Call for Papers: Geocritical Explorations

Call for Submissions: On the heels of a successful MLA special session panel devoted to the subject of “geocriticism,” I welcome contributions to a proposed collection of essays, Geocritical Explorations: Space, Place, and Mapping in Literary and Cultural Studies. Please send 300-word abstract and brief CV to robert.tally@txstate.edu by March 8, 2010.

UPDATE (10 March 2010): Thanks to all who submitted. We had over 50 submissions, which testifies to the timeliness of geocriticism, and nearly all were of the highest quality. As such, this forced me to make some difficult decisions. Those chosen for the edited collection were selected based on thematic fit, with emphasis placed on the overall coherence of the volume. I encourage all who submitted to keep in touch and to be on the lookout for future geocritical opportunities, as I think this field, thriving already, is growing quickly.
